DJ Ern is known as one of the premiere all around DJ in the state of NC, known for his quick transitions, high energy sets & strong scratching abilities, whether it is on the radio, mixtapes or in the clubs DJ Ern has a strong passion for DJ’ing and all facets surrounding it.
DJ Ern learned early on how to mix using primitive mp3 playing software, but feeling that was not enough since he wanted to scratch and felt that was one true essence of being a hip-hop DJ, saved up his money working jobs during his high school & early college years as a on air personality at a radio station, and by the summer of 2004 was able to purchase his first set of turntables, mixer & pa sound system. With influence from local DJ Sal and watching videos of The Invisible Scratch Piklz, DJ Q-Bert & DJ Craze was able to master the art of scratching. Within 3 months of getting turntables DJ Ern was able to land his first residency at a lounge in Greensboro NC in 2004, this is the same year DJ Ern started his TNT mixtape series.
In 2006 DJ Ern was starting to get known in the Triad nightlife scene and landed his first major residency, DJ Ern also landed a major internet radio mix show on Htitzradio, which was consistently ranked in the top 5 most listened to shows on shoutcast, Later that year DJ Ern got his first radio mix show on 99.5 Jamz in Emporia VA. That same year DJ Ern started a mix show on WUAG 103.1 in Greensboro NC along with host Shosmoove that featured only artists from the Carolina’s. Through mixtapes, & a strong reputation in the clubs through the next year, DJ Ern gained attention from the staff at 102 Jamz and on labor day of 2007, DJ Ern joined the 102 Jamz Mixsquad. Although DJ Ern has accomplished a lot as DJ so far he strives to always give the best at all situations and the best of what DJ Ern has is yet to come!
